CSP Family,

 

We are writing to share some important news regarding CSP.

 

Many of you know that Tadd and I began our transition to “retirement” this past summer—a decision we came to after much prayer and that has brought us much peace. Immediately after hiring our successors last summer, we received word from Thompsons Station Church that their facility would no longer be allowing outside organizations to use the venue. That to say, the program we were attempting to pass on has been at a point of reset and rebuild, and in late March, our new teachers shared with us that they are not able to carry that load. 

 

Tadd and I have spent the last few weeks praying and seeking solutions, but after much prayerful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to close our theater program. This decision did not come easily—for us or for our kids. We have loved the last fifteen years of loving on such wonderful students and finding friendship with you parents. We are proud of the program we built and are so grateful for the growth in confidence and character we have gotten to witness in your kids by being a small part of their lives.

 

While this chapter is coming to a close, our commitment to supporting your kids remains strong. We are actively seeking theater opportunities outside our organization that align with our Christian values and educational goals. It is our hope to provide you with recommendations for alternative programs that will continue to nurture your child’s passion for the arts in a Christ-centered environment. I have done some research and spent some time on the phone with the leadership at CYT (Christian Youth Theatre) here in Spring Hill. (They also have a Franklin campus). Their format is different from ours, but their values seem to align with ours. Northstar Theatre Company in Columbia also comes highly recommended. I encourage you to check them out. I would also love to hear from you if you have any recommendations of other programs that we can share with other families.

 

Thank you for your partnership this last fifteen years. The Lord has been so good to us, and we count you all and the fun we’ve had together as cherished blessings.
